Here are three photos of what I believe to be the second time I photographed PMMP. These are taken at 10th of December, 2006, at the Lutakko club in Jyväskylä, Finland. I had photographed my first concert ever about nine months before this gig, and I think these are some of the earliest concert photos that I still like.

This was the first concert photo of mine that was published on Keskisuomalainen, a Finnish Newspaper (as it happens, my first photo overall published in the paper featured a Finnish male stripper group called ‘Scandinavian Hunks’ the previous day). A black-and-white version of this photo was also published in the gatefold of the band’s vinyl version of ‘Kovemmat kädet’.

I think this was taken after Mira, the rest of the band, and the audience sang ‘Happy birthday’ to Paula who turned 25 that night.

This is one of my favorites, and still in my web portfolio. I think this was the starting point for a recurring theme in my concert photos: the study of band-audience interaction.
By the way, I have the good people of Lutakko to thank for enabling me to take these and countless other photos. I became a house photographer there at the fall of ‘06, which meant I could photograph full gigs of any band (as long as the band didn’t object). They’ve never explicitly asked for anything in exchange.
